The YSEALI Summit 2022 focused specifically on the Economic Development pillar and enabled participants to study the latest challenges and opportunities in economic sectors amidst social issues and COVID-19 throughout Southeast Asia.
The YSEALI Summit 2021: Empowering Technology for a Greener Future focused on green technologies, where participants’ attempts to avoid carbon emissions were tracked, and in total, 6473.3 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kgCO2e) were avoided.
The YSEALI Summit 2020 focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) and Industry 4.0, with the goal to inspire participants in the development of solutions to build a highly skilled workforce, which will eventually empower economic development.
The YSEALI Summit 2019 aimed to motivate youth participants to acknowledge the importance of the 4 core pillars of YSEALI. Participants learned how to be accountable for their society and reinforced their role as a leader of the new generation.
The YSEALI Summit 2018 showcased innovative approaches to economic cooperation and growth by U.S. companies, organizations, and institutions present in ASEAN and allowed young innovators and entrepreneurs from both the United States and ASEAN to connect with each other and with participating experts.
In conjunction to the 40th anniversary year of U.S. – ASEAN relations, the YSEALI Summit 2017 focused on an advanced leadership workshop that equipped participants with the knowledge, attitude, and skills to address the complex and dynamic political, social, economic, and environmental issues that ASEAN confronts.
The YSEALI Summit 2016 focused on rural development issues and the quest to bridge the development gap within the ASEAN region. The summit became a platform where minds brimming with new insights, global perspectives, and a fervent commitment to change intersected.
The YSEALI Summit 2015 focused on learning how to develop effective online media campaigns. At the Summit, these young leaders worked in teams to create public awareness campaigns about issues that span all four YSEALI themes. Participants then took those campaigns back to their home countries after the event.
The YSEALI Generation Workshop focused on pressing regional issues that demanded innovative solutions. Regional Exchange participants worked in multi-country teams and developed projects under the all four YSEALI themes. This intentional mix set the stage for dynamic brainstorming sessions, where ideas flowed freely and solutions were shaped by a tapestry of viewpoints.
YSEALI was launched here in 2013, focused on building a network that would come to be known as the YSEALI community—a dynamic force of young minds dedicated to shaping the destiny of their region. Among the foremost outcomes of this momentous gathering were the identification of YSEALI themes that would guide these emerging leaders toward a collective vision.
